Tannin Wine Bar
Tannin Wine Bar (Formerly JP Wine Bar) is all class. As the name would suggest,
Tannin has a top-notch wine and cheese selection.
In the heart of the crossroads, Tannin’s fenced patio is 5 stars and totally happy to host well behaved dogs.
Casual date night is appropriate here and if your dog is third wheeling, this could be the perfect spot.
2. McCoy's Public House
McCoy's Public House
You know it for the beers but your dog will know it for the service.
Most canine guests get a bowl of water and sometimes even a milk bone to keep everybody happy.
McCoy’s is Friday night favorite for just about everyone and letting dogs in on the party makes them even cooler.
3. Farmhouse

Farmhouse is easily one of our favorite dining spots in Kansas City.
You might have seen them featured in our recent list of Farm to Table restaurants which we hope makes you love them too.
Besides being…well, awesome, Farmhouse has a chilled out patio that makes them a great place to enjoy food and drinks and give your dog some fresh air.

4. Westside Local

Another hands down favorite. Westside local is everything we look for in a restaurant.
Maybe you’ve seen us talk about it on twitter or read our recent post.
Westside is amazing all year round but in the summer they open up their beer garden and occasionally even have some live music.
They are totally cool with dogs and I think your dog will be cool with them too.
5. Aixois Cafe

The Pitch has called Aixios Bistro one of Kansas City’s best places to write a novel.
It is set up Brookside and it is the kind of place that dog lovers just seem to fit right in.
During the summer, Aixios opens up their patio for a solid dog dining experience.
6. Grinders

Don’t go to Grinders for an anniversary (not that your dog should be there for that anyway).
Do go to Grinders for some totally greasy pizza, tater tots, cheap beer and lots of tattoos.
Grinders has two patio options, a small one in the front and a larger event space in the back. Both are open in the summer and are totally cool for dogs with a little rocker style.
7. Quay Coffee

This is where you will find us on almost any weeknight or Saturday morning.
We can’t get enough of Quay.
We love the coffee, love their vibe and now that its summer, we love their outdoor seating.
Expect to meet lots of other dog owners and have a totally chilled out time.
8. Galleries at First Fridays

First Friday’s are pretty much an official dog-loving event.
Nearly all the galleries are happy to have your dog and you’ll meet lots of other dog owners who also have some solid taste in art.
9. Nelson Atkins Sculpture Gardens

Another place to get some culture and give your pet some exercise.
The Nelson has a huge lawn and lots of room for your dog to play.
The Nelson website openly invites dog owners to bring their pets so you don’t have to feel even a bit worried that you’ll be scolded off the grounds.

his market is the regions largest Farmers' Market and is located within Kansas City's River Market neighborhood. The market brings over 140 vendors durring summertime that sell fresh fruits and vegetables, plants and herbs, plus a great array of fresh baked goods, cut flowers and crafts made by local artists.
